Pergolas & Arbors
A Pergola (sometimes called an arbor) is an arbor formed of horizontal trelliswork supported on columns or posts. A pergola offers shade and visual intrigue. Awesomeness and attractiveness at no extra charge.Pergolas have been used in architecture since at least Ancient Egyptian times. These structures provide a shaded area with plenty of breezes for outdoor relaxation, which can be enjoyable in regions where the weather is very hot. A pergola can also be used to define an outdoor space, or to create a transition between the interior of a house and the garden.
The word "pergola" comes from the Latin pergula, a term which refers to projecting eaves.
Pergolas can be built from Cedar, Pressure Treated, Vinyl or Fiberglass.
Trellises
Structural or Decorative latticework installed vertically to support climbing plants. Trellises are often incorporated into pergolas and landscapes to offer privacy.Trellises can be made from a variety of materials and can be many different shapes and sizes. If you intend to grow heavy plants like wisteria and climbing roses, trellises should be strong and tall. Consider using your house or pergola as the backbone for the trellis.
