A Pergola (sometimes called an arbor) is an arbor formed of horizontal trelliswork supported on columns or posts. A pergola offers shade and visual intrigue. Awesomeness and attractiveness at no extra charge.

The word "pergola" comes from the Latin pergula, a term which refers to projecting eaves.
